NUS Industrial Design Assignment - Making Links

The brief

My project

As designer-makers, each team of two/three designers will select a context: space or body, to design for. They will be exploring ways to connect different materials and forms, and discover novel ways of joining. After a series of studies, they will use their own system of connections to make small objects for their context. These objects may be home accessories, wearable objects, or something more conceptual.

Under the guidance of Tiffany Loy.

(Ler Shan Tan, Chew Tong Yun, Wee Kai Bin)

WIO is a series of three novel vessels — consisting of a table top, a wall-mounted, and a wearable vessel — that challenges the conventional, by empowering its users to experience an expressive, flexible, and captivating lifestyle.

Respectively made out of their own unique interlinkable units, each product is constructed using steel wires that delicately frame glass spheres, emulating the essence of how dew is found alongside the living nature.
